Again Thumps DreadfulWater is dragged out of his darkroom and into the middle of a mystery that begins in Chinook but travels back in time to a robbery and killing in Denver and Salt Lake city. While the answers to the mystery may lie in the past, the danger lies in the present.

It didn't take me long to read this mystery.
DreadfulWater, a former cop, is temporarly deputy again, after a live-threatning letter to an activist of the organisation Red Power Movement. The activist Noah Ridge wrote a book about the movement. An FBI-Agent follos him to Chinook as well as an man involved in a robbery at a huge company.
DreadfulWater is responsible to find out who is threatning Ridge. During the research the past he meets fellows from the past. But who fits 2 murders and the past together.
I like the style of Thomas King. Sorry, that not more people liked to read the book.

I really liked the antihero Thumps DreadfulWater (great name!) with his reluctance to participate in anything but getting warm. It was a nice story with great characters and settings and I'm interested in reading more from this author.
