20p from a car booty. Different cover.

Sarah is in prison. Every fortnight she is visited by George, the private eye she employed to observe the final stage of her husband's affair. The visits - and the days between - lead George back into Sarah's past and into events he can picture only too well, while bringing him ever closer to a time he can't quite imagine - when she will once again step out into the clear light of day...

Book has arrived safe and sound, thank you so much for sending it x

Private eyes! Not my favourite sort of person, been followed by one myself and its not a nice feeling (long story!). Anyway this is a strange one, it flits back and forth constantly and is written in quite a cryptic way, it takes a while to work out what is going on. I thought this way of writing would fade out once the crime was revealed, but no, it carries on for the whole book, and requires a bit of concentration. An interesting read, and my first by this author.

Interesting, engaging and an easy read. Lovely writing and a wonderful character study of George himself. It perhaps could have been tightened up a little, with less repetition toward the end, but then I guess reminiscing does tend to be like that.

A beautifully written book. Then I begin to think of the words beginning the song, "Windmills of the Mind" from "The Thomas Crown Affair" .... and my mind spirals on.

Swift provides us with an accurate portrait of the wanderings of George's mind. I love how it rambles on connecting the past, present and more. This book is easy to read and I didn't want to put it down. I've also read Swift's "Mothering Sunday" ..... (another beautiful read).

Thank you sooo much for sharing. Loved it.
