Plague Ship (Oregon Files) int'l BOOKRAY
8 journalers for this copy...
The 2008 Cussler is here! Soon more... I'll make a bookray - after having read it. (It's a hardcover).
Edit, August 6, 2008: Again an incredible story written by this author! Some feats are quite unbelievable, but other descriptions most interesting. The plot as such might seem a little bit far fetched - but who knows? One of the best scenes is that of Juan Cabrillo escaping a fast sinking cruise ship!
Here are the bookcrossers taking part in this bookray:
"LindyLouMac" from Vetralla, Lazio, Italy
back to "Book-Man-8"
"xanderer" from Alexandria, Virginia, USA
"perryfran" from Rockville, Maryland, USA
"imawinn2" from Neenah, Wisconsin, USA

This bookray starts with "LindyLouMac" in Italy. Enjoy!
Arrived yesterday with another great postcard for the study wall. Once again book-man-8 you have come to my aid. Thanks to your kindness and generosity my husband has another good book to read. I appreciate your help in keeping him supplied!
A fast paced adventure one could almost believe it was possible. The characters do however all seem to have nine lives.
Thanks book-man-8 for enabling me to read another one of your books via Bookcrossing and my wife LindyLouMac.

Hooray for Book Man! Arrived yesterday via Luftpost.
Recht schönen Dank!
I didn't think I would like Cussler's Oregon Files books as much as those with Dirk Pitt, but I was pleased to discover I actually like them more. (I find the Oregon's crew of highly-talented specialists to be a slightly more believable as heroes than the outlandish Dirk Pitt single superman-type.)
Although this is not the best of that series, it's still a gripping read with some interesting plot twists.

Off to PERRYFRAN in Rockville, Maryland.
Received in the mail today - thanks Book-man-8 for sharing another of your books and xanderer for passing it on. I am just finishing up another book so this will be next.
Another action-packed thriller from Cussler! I always enjoy Cussler's novels and this was no exception. I got drawn into the story from the beginning with the opening sequence of the downed Nazi reconnaissance plane and what appeared to be the discovery of Noah's Ark on a glacier in Norway. It took quite a while into the story for this to tie into the rest of the story but as usual Cussler tied all the loose threads together. The premise of the book was somewhat similar to the last James Rollins novel I read -
The Judas Strain - with a deadly virus or plague as the backdrop of the novel. Some of the other details were quite fascinating including the Responsivist group and their plans to reduce global overpopulation, the
Japanese Unit 731 which I found was a real biological warfare unit and worse than described in the novel, and the Stalin's Fist weapon. This is the second
Oregon Files novel I have read (
Skeleton Coast was the first) and I really enjoy the Juan Cabrillo character and his group - almost as much as Dirk Pitt.
I have imawinn2's address and will get this book in the mail today. Thanks again book-man-8 for another good one.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Plague Ship arrived at the house today. Thanks Book-man-8 for sharing your book and perryfran for the speedy delivery. I look forward to delving into this story. It looks exciting!
This is the first Clive Cussler story that I have read. Generally, I don't read this type book but I really enjoyed the escapades of Juan Cabrillo and the crew of the Oregon. Lots of action! I found myself glued to the pages wondering how these characters were going to get themselves out of each situation. Thanks book-man-8 for sharing such an exciting book with us. It has left me wanting to read more works by this author.
I will be passing this along soon as I have a couple of bookboxes traveling my way.

I'm putting this book in nuyear1975's Wishlist Bookbox. Who ever picks this book will enjoy high adventure with the Oregon crew. A real page turner!
My husband has been reading the Cussler novels, and from what imawinn says, perhaps I will give this one a go as well!!
I borrowed the audio book from the library, and listened for nearly 30 minutes before realizing that this style of book is really not my cup of tea. I was right in thinking that Cussler and I are not meant to be. Hopefully I will find someone who will love this book again!

UPDATE July 11, 2013
Finally! I know it's been a couple of years since I received this book. A lot of things happened since then. I also realized it is the 5th book in a series so really wanted to read the others first. Once into the 3rd book I realized they are not dependent on each other. By then I went ahead and read book 4 as well. Now, I have read Plague Ship and it is by far the best in the series up to this point.
I will release this at bookcrossing drop off next Monday.
