The Empty House

This book once belonged to my mother.
"Virginia Keile secretly dreams of having a second chance to love the tall, dark Cornish farmer she foolishly lost 27 years ago. Her life since has taught her harsh lessons about marriage and children, but now she is back in Cornwall with her children, to try and fill an empty house with love."

This book was a perfect companion for washing away some sorrows on the ordinary daily life. It is full of warmth and also provides you with lovely descriptions of landscapes and the way of life in Cornwall. Unfortunately the ending felt too rushed, there would have been potential to linger longer in the pleasant ending scenes.
I think this book will now continue abroad as a RABCK surprise.

This little book just seemed wanted to be read right away. I was starting another one but decided to let it wait a while and have myself a cozy reading.
The problem with Pilcher's smaller books is that we are always left feeling that something was missing, the story feels a little rushed. It were other times, but even so it's hard to imagine falling in love with someone after only 2 incounters and then everything fitting so well 10 years on, but that's what we expect when reading these books. And in spite of the rush we are left with a warm feeling.
I'll look for more readers for this book. Thanks again, Bookgeo :)
