A wonderful sequel to Griffin & Sabine, Bantock manages to continue his characters' mysterious relationship through the device of "actual" letters and cards without making it a rehash of the original. Now I've got to find the third book!

As I said in the journal entry for Griffin & Sabine, I love the format of the postcards and the letters in the envelopes. I liked this book, but not quite as much as the first one. Like LaRue, though, I am definitely going to find a copy of the third book to see what happens to Griffin and Sabine.

Hmmm...I, too, enjoyed the first book more than this one. This one was still quite intriguing though!

Thanks CBCD for giving me a chance to read these books.

Another amazing Bantock book. I apologize for my lateness in sending this on - stress and my own stupidity in misplacing this (and other) books has caused me to fall behind far more than I'd hoped. It's in the mail!

update 24.03.04
As I wrote in the journal for Volume 1 I loved the format and how beautiful all those postcards and letters were designed. The story was also very nice (though I also didn't really like the ending of part 2), but the main thing for me was the design. Now I hope to find the 3rd volume somewhere...

I will send the books to Georg-und-co.

Same time I wrote my last entry, Georg-und-Co PMed me that the third volume (in German) will follow the German part of the bookray. That's great!
After that, I found out that there are three more books in the series:
The Gryphon, Alexandria, and The Morning Star. How are we going to get these?

The two volumes are on their way to fsr44.

I give it a 10 for the original concept and the artwork and a 3 for story.
The publishing industry has changed so much since this book was released that I wonder if such an innovative approach would be published today.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this.

I received this with the other book. Thanks for sharing! I'll update this journal entry as soon as I am done.

6/27/04
I loved the first book and this one continues to use the beautiful illustrations as part of the story. The ending left me kind of sad... I used to have an imaginary friend when I was little - I would have loved to get some drawings with it too! :o) Will put this as available and maybe organize a bookring.

Oh wow, I picked up the first book to start reading it this morning and finished all three books! I think i'm going to have to pick up a copy of these books for my personal collection. Amazing. I loved the idea of reading someone else's mail... This really kept the story going and I immediately went for the last book to find out how it all comes out. It must be very frustrating though for those who don't have all three books. That would drive me crazy...

I'll PM the next person in line and hope to mail it out on Monday.

UPDATE 11/30 - All three books were sent surface mail to gerenggat today.

Journal Entry 42 by lostbookisland on Monday, September 12, 2005

This book has not been rated.

This book has turned up lost on the doorstep of the Lost Book Island Resort and asks that it be allowed a shared suite with its traveling companion Griffin & Sabine.

What could be taking so long for these books to take a hop across the pond from the US to the UK? Only a new journal entry will be able to tell the tale and the long list of previous readers anxiously await the day that all of their questions will be answered.
