Accessory to Murder (Josie Marcus, Mystery Shopper, Book 3)
4 journalers for this copy...
Things are never quiet in Josie's life and when her best friend's husband is accused of murder she finds herself trying to find out who really did kill Halley Hardwicke. She also has a credit card problem that needs dealing with and a mother who has started smoking again. Although thinks are looking up when a handsome plumber makes a call.
I always love a nice cozy mystery and find they are a good read to help me through my work week. Not too heavy story wise and enjoyable characters this series in particular also has the fun mystery shopper angle. A great plot which kept me guessing till the end and also the continuation of Josie's life story was once again interesting and it was like visiting a friend.
This third part though started off rocky. The beginning really wasn't as good as usual and I really thought that the series was going downhill. After the first half of the book I felt things were back on form but I am not sure if I like Josie's best friend very much. On the other side of things I hope Josie and the plumber have a future...she deserves something good with everything she has been through!
Roll on book #4 I will buy you and happily snuggle up with another cozy Josie Marcus story.

This is a classic tale of: Amateur solves crime.
The amateur in this case is Josie Marcus, who does mystery shopping for a living. As we soon learn, this profession can be glamorous, but in most cases it's not, since also Dollar-Stores, Supermarkets and (horrible) Fast Food Chains request mystery shopper.
But it sure is a nice change to have a protagonist have a different kind of job once in a while.
The mystery is not overly dramatic, and somehow the story not really gripping. Meaning I wasn't really thrilled to find out who might be the killer. Creation of suspense didn't work for me. However, it was still nice reading the book.

I still have many books that arte awaiting their turn, anyhow this one looked promising - therefore I had to take it.
Thanks for bringing the book!
The plot was rather realistic but not espcailly thrilling. The solution to the mystery is a little bit out of the blue, however it was OK.
