About the book.....
Darcy Rhone thought she had it all figured out: the more beautiful the girl, the more charmed her life. Never mind substance. Never mind playing by the rules. Never mind karma.

But Darcy's neat, perfect world turns upside down when her best friend, Rachel, the plain-Jane “good girl,” steals her fiancé, while Darcy finds herself completely alone for the first time in her life…with a baby on the way.

Darcy tries to recover, fleeing to her childhood friend living in London and resorting to her tried-and-true methods for getting what she wants. But as she attempts to recreate her glamorous life on a new continent, Darcy finds that her rules no longer apply. It is only then that Darcy can begin her journey toward self-awareness, forgiveness, and motherhood.

Ya' know, I never did like her even at the end! I don't know if my dislike for Darcy was too ingrained from reading the previous book first (Something borrowed), but I just found her so annoyingly self absorbed and I wasn't happy that her happy ever after came so easily.
Although, I did enjoy reading the book - yes, thats right, I enjoyed reading a book whilst filled with dislike towards the main character - go figure.

Reading today at the airport while waiting for my mother and cousin to board for Italy. I loved the first book, told from Rachel's perspective.

7 out of 10

Finished this one last night. At the beginning I really didn't like Darcy and I didn't know if I could make it through an entire book of her whining. I decided to try and get through it and I did and the payoff was worth it. I enjoyed reading about her transformation, growth, and maturing. I'm glad I read these two books, I already have DitteL address so I will get this out in the mail sometime this week along with Something Borrowed.

Finished reading this today. I don't think Emily Giffin will ever become one of my favourite chick-lit authors but I definately think that this book was better than the first one. IMO Rachel was really onesided whereas Darcy turns out to be so much more. And even though chick-lits are always predictable I do love a happy ending, and I know that I'll get one every time.

I already got solskinn's address but we've agreed that I won't send her the two books until the beginning of the new year as she'll be away for the holidays.

Once again thanks for sharing Blundery.

I loved reading this book as much as I loved its prequel! An enthralling story that I couldn't put down, and interesting to read it all from Darcy's point of view. - I still liked Rachel's Story (Something Borrowed) slightly better though.
