7 out of 10

This book is enjoyable enough and both Fox and Layla are likable characters. But like the previous book in the series, everyone in this book has a tendency to talk everything to death. The result is a book in which all the characters talk as if they're shrinks at a group therapy session. The central romance, like all Nora Roberts books, is sweet enough but kind of bland with no real drama.

I'm looking forward to the third book even though so far the characters of Gage and Cybil have failed to interest me. He's too much of a cynical bad boy and she's too pushy and outspoken for my taste. I guess for me the real interesting element to this series is the paranormal stuff. Can't wait to see how that plotline resolves itself.
