En oikeastaan odottanut - suosiosta huolimatta - tältä kirjalta paljonkaan, joten kirja oli todella positiivinen yllätys. Surumielinen, koskettava ja inhimillinen tarina imaisi mukaansa ja valotti Saksan natsimenneisyyttä - tai tarkemmin sanottuna pientä siivua siitä - pikkuisen tavanomaisesta poikkeavalla tavalla.
