Journal Entry 1 by LadyIndigo from Orange, New South Wales Australia on Wednesday, May 14, 2008
from inside cover: As comtemporary critics noted, Katherine Mansfield had been greatly influenced by her reading of Chekov. In the realm of the short story, however, she quickly established her own manner. It is undramatic -indeed she almost dispenses with plot- marked by a sensitive subtlety in the treatemnt of human behaviour, and lyrical in style to the verge of poetry. The ninety-one stories which comprise this definitve volume are taken from Mansfield's five collections of stories, Bliss, The Garden Party, The Doves' Nest, Something Childish, In a German Pension which were originally published separately.

Thanks so much for sharing this read with me. What a delightful collection of stories. Mansfield is a joy to read! I hope you find it enjoyable, too. It's on it's way back to you. I should make it to the PO before the end of the day.

Journal Entry 6 by LadyIndigo from Orange, New South Wales Australia on Saturday, December 20, 2008
thanks for returning the book nikki ;-) i look forward to dipping into this collection too, perhaps a story at a time .. as an interval between *all* those novels i am planning on finishing these holidays.... thankyou thankyou (and the po promised 2 day delivery = 4 days - my po has marked receipt as 18/12 but it wasn't there in the morning (of 18th) when i checked - perhaps the postal staff are story tellers too hehehe - you might let them know - just sticking the 'outside next-day network' doesn't make it travel quicker)
