I'd like to read this: two chick-lits for the price of one. So I'll set it to TBR for now.
Blurb:
Let's Meet on Platform 8:
Teri is searching for Mr Right. She's been throuth Mr Lazy, Mr Greedy, Mr Completely Selfish and Mr Downright Pervert - but, as yet, no Mr Right. That is, of course, until she's knocked off her feet by Jamie Duncan, as they rush to catch the 18.07 from platform 8. Soon love blossoms and commuting takes on a whole new meaning. But as well as being Mr Right, Jamie is also Mr Married...
A Whiff of Scandal:
When Rose escapes from London and Hugh - her devastatingly handsome, intelligent and charming ex-lover - she has no idea that her occupation as an aromatherapist will cause such a scandal in her new country village. All she wants is a bit of peace and quiet, but her weird and wonderful neighbours soon ensure that her life is more complicated than it ever was before. Maybe that's because she's in love again...

Let's Meet on Platform 8:
I read this in a couple of days in between Christmas shopping and getting ready to visit my in-laws before Christmas. It fitted the bill perfectly as easy-to-read pick up/put down chick-lit. I thoroughly enjoyed it, so was loth to put it down. In actual fact, I found this unexpectedly balanced in telling the story from the point of view of the guilt-ridden husband, the wife he was cheating on, as well as the hopeful mistress. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
I will wait to read the other story in this book until a later date.

A Whiff of Scandal:
Having just abandoned another chick-lit, 'Sally' by Freya North, as complete drivel, this is refreshingly enjoyable and humorous. The characters are either attractive and likable, or deliberately unsympathetic, yet even the villains of the piece turn out to have hidden vulnerabilities. Predictably, the path of true love is unpredictable, requiring difficult decisions and anguish. I felt that the chapter about Basil bringing chocolates to the Lavender Hill mob's house interrupted the flow of the main story near the end, but was necessary to complete that sub-plot. Altogether a well-written, absorbing story with a good dose of humour and romance without being heavy-handed. Recommended!
