Great book- funny & empathetic! Definitely up for reading more of Haddon's work!
FROM BACK COVER: Christopher John Francis Boone knows all the countries of the world and their capitols and every prime number up to 7,057. He relates well to animals but has no understanding of human emotions. He cannot stand to be touched. And he detests the color yellow.
This improbable story of Christopher's quest to investigate the suspicious death of a neighborhood dog makes for one of the most captivating, unusual, and widely heralded novels in years.

Received this bookray book today! Thank you for sharing with us, Scoobs-buddy! I was getting bored with another book I've been trying to read, so I will put it down and start this one tonight.
I'm not going to rate this book because I don't think it would be fair to the book considering my current state of mind. I just found out that my grandmother is expected to die in the next couple of days, so this is one of those very rare moments when I can't concentrate to read. I have tried to read this, but it seems to ramble from one subject to another too much for me. If I tried to read it when I wasn't so upset, I might have enjoyed it better. I will send this on to the next reader today.

This arrived in the mail this afternoon and I'm almost done reading it. I would have posted earlier today but it's very warm here and I try not to use my computer during the day because of the heat.
This is a fascinating book with an autistic main character. Can't say much because I don't want to give away any details. I'm glad I have the chance to read this thanks for Scoobs-buddy.
I've already PM'd aaahchuu for a shipping addy. I'll probably have this out in the next few days.
Update: finished the book. Quite a nice murder mystery. As soon as I hear from aaahchuu, I'll send it on. Thanks for letting me read this Scoobs-buddy!!!

I enjoyed the book and hope to read more by this author in the future.
The funny thing is, I forgot it was on a bookray and addressed the label to the person who mailed it to me. The good thing is that hubby didnt' mail it afterall so I will mail to the correct person on Monday.
Scoobs, no way to PM ya, but it's all cool now LOL!

Got it! Looks like a good read. Will get to it just as soon as I finish my current book.... thanks y'all :D
I loved this book! So amusing, yet touching too. I could really relate with this kid since I have a close friend who has a daughter very much like this main character. Our families have traveled together for almost 20 years, so we've experienced her growing up -- the stories we could tell! Thanks scoobs-buddy for sharing this delightful book :D

Received yesterday when I arrived in Ohio. Thanks to Scoobs-buddy for sharing and carrie1 for sending it to me. I hope not to be too long reading it. As usual, it seems as all the bookrings I joined came available at the same time. How do they do it? and so consistently? Anyway, looking forward to it. If I cannot sleep on the plane back home as is usually the case, I am well stocked.
How to describe this book? I'd say sweet and touching. Christopher is such a likeable character who deals with what life throws at him remarkably well considering his limitations. An enjoyable read.

This arrived about a week ago but it's taken a while for me to get my computer back online. Thanks for the postcard of Hong Kong - it looks a fascinating (but vast and quite daunting) place.
I really enjoyed this book - it's a bit of a one-off. Much better than Mark Haddon's poems.

I found this book in a charity shop in Glasgow's West End. I had read it previously when I lived in Australia and loved it and was delighted to have the opportunity to re-read it. I plan to release the book again next weekend when I go to Liverpool.
