"One of the first things I associate with the reading of books is the struggle I waged to obtain them. Not to own them, mind you, but to lay hands on them."
Picked this up from "The Friends of Montgomery County Library" used book store. Ex-library hardcover.
Amazon Editorial Review: Just when Alex thought his life was calming down into a routine of patients and therapy sessions, he finds himself back in the game--this time to catch a criminal mastermind like no other. A spate of elaborate murders in Washington D.C. have the whole East Coast on edge. They are like nothing Alex Cross and his new girlfriend, Detective Brianna Stone, have ever seen. With each murder, the case becomes increasingly complex. There's only one thing Alex knows: the killer adores an audience. As victims are made into gruesome spectacles citywide, inducing a media hysteria, it becomes clear to Alex that the man he's after is a genius of terror--and he's after fame. The killer has the whole city by its strings--and he'll stop at nothing to become the most terrifying star that Washington D.C. has ever seen.
Another excellent Alex Cross novel from Patterson! This was as usual a real page turner which I read in a couple of days. Patterson brought back one of his old adversaries for this one - Kyle Craig - plus a new bad guy DCAK (DC Audience Killer). Both were very vile, as usual, for Patterson villains. Overall, another great entry in the Cross series!

Recieved in yesterdays mail and finished a book this morning so I guess I can start this one next. I do have another one going right now too though. It will be very soon though.
I just love these books. Easy reads but they sure grip you. I am excited to read the next one now. Thanks so much for sharing with me. I PM'd the next in line and will mail it to her.
This arrived safely in the mail last week. It was perfect timing as I did not have any books I felt like reading here. I had computer issues and am finally getting to journal it. I have almost finished reading it - it's good! I will be mailing this to the next reader on the list very soon. Thx Perryfran for adding me to the ray!
09/18/09 - I really enjoyed this exciting Alex Cross drama. Had a lot of crazy twists.

The biggest draw for me of authors like Patterson, Truman, or others, is that they write stories taking place in my hometown. I have lived and worked in D.C. all my life, so I love being drawn into a story where I know every turn intimately, so I am really following the action first-hand. It can feel odd after reading a book set in your town, and then driving past a set location the next day (Do not tell me you won't be tempted to look around!)
As for the story... it is not the best story of JP, but is a good one. The plot most of the time is fast paced but has its boring parts. As many of his books the end of this one will be the beginning of another story. All in all, quite enjoyable, and worth the time.
Sending this book off to EmgeeNL in the Netherlands.

This arrived in the post at the beginning of the week and I can't wait to get started on it - I've just got three or four chapters of my latest offering to finish and then I can give it my undivided attention. Hoorah!
PM'd iliotropio for their address today, as I'm almost at the end. Sorry for the delay in getting it moving again, but it took me a bit longer than I'd planned to finish the other book I was reading.
ETA: I've now got iliotropio's address so I'll be posting it out later this week. (8 Feb)

Apologies all - I thought this had already been posted, but for some reason it managed to slip the net! I'll post this on to the next reader on Friday (when I can next get to the post office).
