Caught at the Meet-Up - thanks, will give it a try since Nancy & Becca recommend it.
Sorry this JE is so late!
Sorry this JE is so late!
An interesting book - a little odd, and at times intense with feeling. I did enjoy reading it for the most part but probably not quite my cup of tea.

Sent to melydia for the US BookCrossing book swap on swap-bot - happy reading!
Received this in the mail from a swap on swap-bot.com. My husband commented that somebody wrote a book about me. Heh. Anyway, it looks good. Thanks!
Though it purports to be about a teenaged boy and his romance with a complicated older woman, this book is more about how the succeeding generations of Germans deal with the horrors of their Third Reich parents and grandparents. Michael Berg is a thoroughly introspective narrator, creating the feel of a memoir more than a novel. I found myself thinking about the characters and their choices long after finishing the last page. Recommended for those looking for a thought-provoking read.
I caught this one on my trip to maryland at Kosher Bites. I've been really interested in reading it because of the movie and all. I'm looking forward to reading it.
I finished reading this book about two weeks ago for the 1001 challenge. It was interesting and very sad. At one point I was going to quit it but some friends encouraged me to keep reading.
