If Angels Burn: A Novel of the Darkyn (Signet Eclipse)
3 journalers for this copy...
Paranormal romance. First of the Darkyn Series. The book quotes a website for the series, but it doesn't seem to exist, I just ended up at one of those non-descript search engines. The author's blog is here: http://pbackwriter.blogspot.com/.
From Amazon:
"Alexandra Keller is Chicago's most brilliant reconstructive surgeon.Michael Cyprien is New Orleans' most reclusive millionaire-and in desperate need of Dr. Keller's skills. In the heart of the Garden District, Alex encounters the extraordinary Cyprien, uncovering a love Alex is willing to embrace, even if she must sacrifice her heart and soul to do so."
A slightly new take on vampires. I kept waiting for the erotic part mentioned in the cover blurb, but the romance was pretty slow in coming. I guess after reading the whole Anita Blake series, I don't do well with subtle and gentle romance. Plenty of hints at Anne Rice. Fairly decent storyline, however I'm not rushing out for the second one. Although I do wonder how it will all develop in the next book, especially for Alexandra and John.
Bookray, shipping order so far:
Scruffykaz, London, UK, willing to ship anywhere
WestofMars, Pennsylvania, USA, last spot -- gets to keep it!
Please journal when you get the book, so we know it's safe. Check with the next one if they still want the book, before sending it on. Let us know, when you sent it on and a little comment how you liked it would be great! Please try not to keep the book longer than 4 to 6 weeks. And if life gets in the way and it does take longer, let us know. Snail mail is fine. And most of all - enjoy the book!

This book arrived at the weekend which was good timing as I had just finished the book I had been reading and didn't have anything to read!
Wasn't sure I would enjoy this book as it was listed as "romance" and I didn't want to end up reading a Mills and Boon with fangs!
I was pleasantly suprised though. It certainly isn't the best vampire book that I have read but I did find the story quite engaging.
Not going to say too much because I don't want to spoil it for the next person :-)
I will be picking up the next book and am interested to see how the story develops.
Thanks for sharing!

Kewl! It's here, nice and safe and sound. I hope I get to it sooner rather than later, as since I've started reading Viehl's blog, I'm VERY curious about what her books are like.
Thanks, guys!
