Journal Entry 2 by lunacia from Sandnes, Rogaland fylke Norway on Sunday, May 04, 2008

I read this book while studying English at the University of Oslo over ten years ago. I remember it as a touching and well written book that I enjoyed very much. I also remember once, on the underground on my way somewhere, I was reading it, and a couple og neo nazis sat down beside me. I doubt they had any idea about who Toni Morrison was at all. I don't think I have ever heard so many stupid things been said in such a short time span. I was very happy when they left.

Journal Entry 4 by LeishaCamden from Alna bydel, Oslo fylke Norway on Monday, May 05, 2008
I got this from lunacia at meetup today. I shouldn't have, I know ... I have way too many books to read as it is ;-) ... but this is on the 1001 list ... and it is a slim volume, only about 175 pages, so it won't take me very long to read - once I get started, of course ... Thanks for sharing!!

Journal Entry 6 by LeishaCamden at -- wild release somewhere in Oslo, Oslo fylke Norway on Saturday, January 29, 2011
Oops ... I did finish this book, a few days after the previous entry in fact, I've just been forgetting to journal it. I'm sorry! I'm the slowest journaler ever. :-( But better late than never ... ? I liked this book although it was sad and rather tragic sometimes. Things going wrong in people's lives when you feel that they deserve better. Well written and with touching characters. A rather exotic setting from my POV. An interesting glimpse into the different lives people lead. Well worth reading although not what you'd call cheering.
