This is probably the most huge book I have received by mail so far:-)). It arrived in perfect condition thanks to the careful packing of its owner:-)).
I hope it doesn`t sound like an excuse but I have a little baby (month and 1/2),so most probably I will be reading slowly. I hope you will bear with me!
Thanks a lot for sending the book to me!

Thanks a lot for sending the book to me!
Just a quick note to inform that I`m reading the book for some time. Till now I find it quite difficult to comprehend. A big intellectual challenge.
I fear that I have to give up on that book. It just goes so slowly and so difficult for me! Quite a challenge,I admit.Perhaps if I had more time for reading, it would have been easier to concentrate and appreciate this complex work.
Thanks to davemurray101 for allowing me to keep the book longer, and sorry for giving up!

My godness! This must be the biggest book I have ever received by mail!
Where I am supposed to read this? I guess that in bed it will not work and, definitely, does not fit into my handbag! :-))
I'll try to get to it as soon as possible, do not have any rings / rays in urgent need for attention so I'll probably start quite soon...
Thanks jellyfish for sending it and davemurray101 for sharing!!
OCTOBER 19 UPDATE: Quick note to let everybody know that I have already read 25 pages of this book... still more than 900 to go, so it will take some time!

I'm afraid I have to give up on this one. After more than a month and about 200 pages, I'm still trying to figure out where the book is going. As I still have 700 pages left, I think it would take me about a year to finish it so I don't want to hold up this ring any longer.
I have PMed the next in line for their address.

Oh my god, I thought I had already made a JE on this book! I was just planning on putting an update in, which was lucky, as otherwise I wouldn't have realised. I've had this book for a couple of weeks, and it seems to be taking me forever to read. I'm currently just over hlaf way through, so hopefully I should be able to send this on to Releanna soon. I am enjoying the book, a lot more than I was expecting to, but it's hard work. A lot of the time I don't really know who is talking to who, and I have to flick back a few pages to try and work it out!
I finished this book a few days ago, and am now trying to contact supetalya (Releanna wished to be skipped). I did enjoy the book, a lot more than I was expecting. My main problem with the novel was that huge chunks of it felt really, really unnecessary. I also found it difficult to keep track of who was speaking at some points along the way. I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it had been a bit more concise.
Will be posting off to the next person as soon as I hear back.

Arrived in today's mail, as well as two other rings. That's seven bookrings I have in the house. I hate this kind of pressure!
Sorry Dave. I'm giving up too. I've read 200 pages and I'm still clueless, and I have four other bookrings / rays at the moment and very little reading time. I haven't heard back from Miss-Owl re her return to Australia. I'll hang on to it until I see you next.
I've caught up on the other bookrings, so I'm going to pick this up where I left off - at page 202. I hate not finishing a book!
I can finally say I've finished with this book. Having just read through all the journal entries for all copies of this book registered on the site, I've gotta ask has anyone ever actually read all the book?
Just checked Amazon, and it seems that a few people have completed and even understood it!
My main question is "How could any parent call their child Recktall Brown?"
I have an Australian address for Miss-Owl so will get this into the mail when I've got the energy to carry it to the post office!

Thanks for hefting this all the way to the post office, cat207! The book is safe at my sister's place now, all ready for me to tackle in six weeks, and thence for donation to the 1001-library (where I sincerely hope that the next borrower will be from Oz). Many thanks!
