Journal Entry 1 by wingMary-Twing from Bretzfeld, Baden-Württemberg Germany on Saturday, April 26, 2008
"In the English language, swearing is essential to effective communication. Whether you want to succeed in business, school, or social circles, a strong command of vacabulary is absolutely necessary. Just imagine a stranger to our shores, trying to comprehend the following conversation:
JOHN: Mary, would you like to attend the opera this evening?

MARY: F*cking-A. Schould I wear my black dress?
JOHN: Why the f*ck not?
MARY: F*cked if I know - Oh, f*ck! I just remembered. It got f*cked up in the wash.
JOHN: Well, f*ck the opera. Let's stay home and f*ck.
MARY: Good f*cking idea.

English as a Second F*cking Language (ESF*L) is the perfect way for non-native speakers to learn the basics of swearing. At the same time, it also offers native speakers a wide variety of twists and new refinements. Page after page, ESF*L provides a smorgasbord of swearing synonyms designed to boost your vocabulary - everything from the conventional d*mn and sh*t to a host of more inventive terms that would make any truck driver blush. And when you're finished reading, our Final F*cking Exam is the perfect test of your swearing skills. You'll be surprised by how much you've learned!"

Nothing what you really have to read.
I liked the windbreaker most! ;)
And mind you, I passed the test at first go!

I will pass it on to friend to read.
Then it will go out as an international ring

OK, it isn't my kind of language - I don't like swearing - not even in German, my mothertongue. But you never know when it will come in handy. At least I know now how to react if someone talks to me like that.
It was a funny and short read. Now it is ready to go on the road again.

The book arrived today. Thank you. I don't have that much time, but this is a small book with big letters, so I think, it won't last that long.

Argh, sorry I forgot the Arrival-Journal again. I don't know what's up with that... I just don't seem to get this done.

We started reading and are almost through. Fuckin' funny book if you ask me. We made the experience that - in the situation of a missed city-train - the knowledge assembled in this book also beautifully integrates in the German language and makes swearing and being angry at the damn train a tit more sophisticated. ;D

I'll ask for the next address so the book can travel on soon.

I thought this would be more amusing than it was. I guess I'm too old, but the excitement of the four-letter words has kind of worn off. Interesting to see what the non-native speakers of English thought of the book.

I've had this book far too long, sorry! Am now mailing it off to mizuchy in Romania today from a post office near where I live. Hope you enjoy this book more than I did and I'm so sorry for the delay!
