It took me forever to track down this book. And I was afraid that it wasn't going to live up to my expectations because of the intriguing glimpse I had of Bridin and Tristan in "Fairytale". Well, it kind of did and kind of didn't. This book has a lot of flaws - inconsistent characterizations, convoluted and over-the-top plots. Bridin acted too much like a martyr/saint for my taste, and not for a moment was I convinced that she is a warrior princess capable of leading her people to regain the throne. But I still enjoyed the book, mostly because of the love-hate relationship between Bridin and Tristan. And of course Tristan was to-die-for. There was one plot element that made me cringe, but thankfully the author dropped that thread quickly enough. Overall a good read.
