This book fell victim to my recent resolution to give up on books that just don't grab me from the very beginning. (This is due to my humongous tbr pile, of course ;)) I actually gave this book a proper chance, reading up to page 120 or so, but decided to stop there because I was still getting confused about the many (too many) characters and storylines. That's a pity, actually, as the book is rather well written and researched, too.
