I am half way through and I must say the book is intriguing. You really get to feel the anger of Meredith against her father and her - in my eyes even more horrible - mother.

The story:
Merdith, 14, is shocked when she hears that her father is being released early from prison. He had ben in prison for abusing her and 5 other children from the neighbourhood and she is afraid of him and the prospect of living under the same root. Her mother is no help at all on the contrary she has some really twisted views about her daughter and her husband and you wonder why she even wants to have custody over Meredith. Well I guess the mother is only interested in playing happy family. Anyway Meredith does get some help from her boyfriend and his mother a seemingly weird born-again Christian, who is quite smart after all and who is trying to help Meredith.

Her father was supposed to be locked up until Meredith turned eighteen. She thought she had time to grow up, get out, and start a new life. But Meredith is only fifteen, and today her father is coming home from prison.
