WILD RELEASE NOTES:
This book was a finalist for Canada Reads 2010. It had been on Mt. TBR for ages, so it was a good time to finally read it. I'm very glad that I did, because it was a great read. It is an important, though probably not well known, part of our Canadian history and this book should be read by everyone, even though it didn't ultimately win the Canada Reads competition.
Released at the Spring Meetup. Great to see everyone! Happy reading!

This book has been calling to me for some time. Matt Galloway (of CBC's Metro Morning) said it was his favourite of the 5 Canada Reads selections.
So glad you made it today, even if it was only for a short time!

I tried but just couldn't get into this one. Will bring it to tonight's meetup
I truly loved this book. It was written with true passion and understanding about the trials that so many immigrants face. The story is told from the perspective of 3 Chinese immigrant children and the challenges they faced during the 1940's with discrimination and the Second World War to contend with during that time. I am proud to be Canadian and also proud to have immigrants who have embraced Canada as these three children did.
I will leave this book in the St. James Cemetery this afternoon - Saturday, September 10, 2011
