As soon as I started reading this I realised that I had already read (at least the beginning) of this book before. It's very well written and what Ian McEwan says about wanting "to write a book for adults about being a child in a language that children could understand" is good. He does that very well. my favourite chapter on the re-read is The Cat - it works so well :)
