I bought this after listening to the author interviewed on Woman's Hour: the book sounded really intriguing.

This was excellent - so glad I bought it. Set in the future when global warming and terrorist outrages have led to Britain becoming a totalitarian state. There is a small army of women based in Cumbria led by the enigmatic and very scary Jackie... I really enjoyed this view of the world, a world that could arise if we are not careful....
