In the 1960s, Carlos Castaneda was to meet a Yaqui Indian, Don Juan, a man who possessed arcane knowledge. For the next five years, Don Juan took Carlos Castaneda on a mystical journey.
The Teachings of Don Juan, and the books that followed, were to influence a whole generation, including the Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho.
