Fup
3 journalers for this copy...
Set in the California hills and spanning over a hundred years, this story revolves around Grandaddy Jake - 99 years old and a belligerent unreformed gambler, Tiny - adopted by Jake and a gentle giant, and Fup - an uncompromising 20-pound mallard whose presence enforces order in the household.
A very cute and funny and strange book. Easy and relaxing to read. Perfect for a rainy day!

Handed this over to LeishaCamden at the meetup today. When she's done reading it, she'll pass it on to Jannike, who'll pass it on to Findabair when she's done reading it.

Lots of interest in this book at meetup today! :-) I was the lucky one to snap it up first.
Book is read! :-) November 11th through 16th.
This was a strange book - a quick read, on the surface of it a simple story, but with many layers. A sweet story, but a little sad too ... some very charming characters. :-) I hesitate to call it a regular novel, I'd rather call it a fable. But I'm not entirely sure what about. ;-) Certainly well worth reading for pretty much anyone. I'm really looking forward to Oslo meetups over the next couple of months when more local BCers will have read this and we can talk about it ... ;-)
Reserved for Jannike who will get it at the December meetup.

Jannike wasn't at meetup today, so I gave this to Findabair, another interested party. :-) Jannike can read it after her.
Have fun with Fup. ;-)

Got this from Leisha at last month's meetup. Everyone spoke so warmly about it that I figured I needed to give it a try myself =)
(Apologies for taking so long to journal it.)
