I found this book in the bookcase at Hebden Bridge Railway Station. It's a big book and the cover wasn't particularly appealing, women in bonnets and flouncy frocks. It caught my interest because it was a bookcrossing book and because it is set in Waynesboro, Ohio. I am planning a trip this summer to Dayton, Ohio to visit my brother so I thought I can read it and take it home. I'm now 3/4 of the way through and I will finish it. it's covers several generations from 1868 to 1932 in a small town with the back drop of change in the USA, interesting from a historical and political perspective. Scarily racist, sexist, and republican in outlook but personal and intelligent in human interaction. I plan to leave it in a cafe in Dayton.
