I love Patricia Cornwell! This book, the only Cornwell I haven't read yet, was on my wish list. Thank you so much for sending it - and for taking the trouble to hunt a copy down!

I always enjoy reading Cornwell's Scarpetta books and this one was no exception. Okay, I agree, later books tend not to be as good as the early ones: there's too much emphasis on the personal relationships which become increasingly convoluted - and in this book in particular, one can detect a certain amount of character realignment going on in the background. But it is in the background, and the crime mystery remains at the core of plot. Thumbs up from me. Thanks so much for sending this dolph1n.
Read June 2008.
Will probably take to the next London meet up to pass on.

Picked up at the meet last night.
Oh dear, the later books in this series just aren't a patch on the earlier ones. The writing style is awkward and strangely disjointed, the characters have become very unlikeable and Scarpetta is still a miserable cow.
