Life in small town America. I think I recognized some of these characters. From the back of the book:
It's easy to feel at home in Mitford. In these high, green hills, the air is pure, the village is charming, and the people are generally lovable.
Yet, Father Tim, the bachelor rector, wants something more. Enter a dog the size of a sofa who moves in and won't go away. Add and attractive neighbor who begins wearing a path trough the hedge. Now, stir in a lovable but unloved boy, a mystifying jewel theft, and a secret that's sixty years old.
Suddenly, Father Tim gets more than he bargained for. And readers get a rich provincial comedy in which mysteries and miracles abound.

Picked this up at the Meet-Up at Muddy Waters and forgot to journal it (sorry Rebecca!). Picked up the one after it in the series so I can't wait to read them.

This book was "okay" in my opinion. It wasn't a fabulous read but it helped pass the time. I had a hard time relating in any way with Father Tim and his "adventures" so I didn't end up reading the next book in the series, but hopefully someone else will appreciate it more.
