A friend passed this on to me when he was finished reading. I read it years ago, and although I remembered almost nothing about it, I was pretty sure when I saw the movie that that seemed very different from what little I did remember. Not sure whether I fancy reading it again - maybe I'll just give it away.

But I had to register it on bookcrossing first! ;)

Thanks very much! I like PD James very much and this book, while rather different from her usual stuff, sounds particularly interesting.

This was a pretty good read. Sometimes the story got a little bogged down and James seemed to think she was writing a mystery instead of a sci-fi-type story - always trying to explain what everyone was doing, or might be doing, and why, and what it meant - but an interesting story. And much of it didn't seem very far-fetched, which was a bit chilling. Thanks for sharing it.
