This is a really excellent memoir of a feisty, courageous woman. In a repressive country, she has remained an individual willing to stand up for her rights, and those of everyone else. She is an inspiration and a model for every woman -- and man. This book is now traveling to brewski in Canada.
This was waiting for me when I returned from vacation today. I am looking forward to reading this. Thanks again for the generous RABCK Dreamer2.
Thanks again for the RABCK, Dreamer2!
This was a fascinating read not only about the truly courageous Ebadi, but also an intriguing journey into the fascinating world of Iran. I actually found the descriptions of the environment in which Ebadi lived much of her life most interesting. I suppose some of this probably has to do with the fact that I really had no good idea of the history that went into the formation of the Iran that we see today. My ignorance of world history aside, this was an enjoyable, informative, and inspiring memoir.
I have a surprise recipient in mind to pass this book on to in the spirit that I received it :) Enjoy!

Mailed off this morning to a surprise recipient that a) has had this book on their wishlist for quite some time b) is a well-respected and active BookCrosser. Enjoy!
Wow, what a delightful surprise to receive this in the mail yesterday... and what an affirming comment about Bookcrossing and bookcrossers, too! I feel very honored and really look forward to reading this. If you haven't read or seen (or both) Persepolis, you should do that now in light of this book; it also calls to mind Reading Lolita in Teheran, but somehow this looks so much more approachable. Brewski, you are a treasure; thanks for making my day, week and month! Bookcrossing Bisous to you!
