Had to pick this up today since I ran out of reading material before I got home on public transportation.
I like this series so I would have picked it up anyway.
Russ' wife has found out about his interest in priest Clare and has chucked him out. Unfortunately, she shortly thereafter turns up dead.
That's as far as I've gotten. But the Denver Post says it is "a dizzying roller coaster of a ride".

Well, I have to agree with the Denver Post about it being a "dizzying ... ride". It had me going.
I only lived in upstate New York for a little while but I just love all the references to all the towns with the great names and memories of driving/riding through the area.
This one was a real page turner. You just aren't sure what to think when the chief's wife is found dead on the kitchen floor with her face slashed to bits. Plus, the chief, who is staying with his mom (after being chucked out by Linda because of his relationship with Clare) seems to have a bit of time unaccounted for, at least by mom.

Ok, I'm going to discover the difference between a woman priest/sleuth in America and a woman priest-exorcist/sleuth in Wales. Marcus23 knows of what I speak. ;^) Thanks!

I have no idea if this book was passed on to me by a friend or if I picked it up at a garage sale. Either way, I'm sure it's from a garage sale as the recipient before me was reading it just down the street from where I live.
This books has been sitting on my shelf for years, so I apologize to all of you wondering where it's been. From the title and cover, it looked more like horror than mystery, so it sat a while longer and then a while longer. I was just recently looking through my bookshelves for a mystery and picked this one up. Lo and behold, it wasn't horror and it was quite good!
I'll be passing it along to my mom who will then pass it along to one of her friends. Hopefully it won't sit on a shelf for as long this time.
