Journal Entry 1 by Laxdaela from -- Somewhere in London 🤷♀️ , Greater London United Kingdom on Tuesday, March 11, 2008
To be honest, I received this as a gift some years ago and for whatever reason (perhaps the fact it was such an afterthought and given with the plastic bag from the store next to where I worked) I've never had any interest in reading it.
It seems reasonable enough, so someone should have it :)
Journal Entry 2 by Rivercassini from -- Somewhere in London 🤷♀️ , Greater London United Kingdom on Tuesday, March 11, 2008
Picked up at the London meet up at the Camel and Artichoke earlier this evening. I came home with only three books, so I'm feeling very proud of myself!

Caught at an OBCZ. Now available.
Though nowhere in the book, the title comes from *that* Smiths song. Coupland shows this by embedding a host of Smiths song titles in the book.
Though the book's exceptionally well written, from early on in the novel, I felt Coupland took way too long to build up to whatever the climax was going to be.
The story's about a group of friends, one of which dies early by Leukemia, another falls into a coma for 17 years, though both return to, in a way, save the world from boredom. Indeed, very Stephen King.
Written in 1997, the internet gets quite a few mentions, which is exceptional as, at the time, the world wide web was still relatively obscure.
