I've seen this book a few times in shops and the cover has really caught my eye. Picked it up at a second hand book sale in Walthamstow today. Added to the TBR pile.

This was really good. The story of a wealthy but drifting LA resident and how he kind of puts his life back together. A couple of entertaining chance occurrences in an otherwise pretty believable narrative. Plenty of humour in there too. Well worth picking up.

What an odd book. I think I was about two thirds of the way through the book, wondering 'where is this book going'? At some point I gave up wondering and just went with it. Having finished it, I still don't know if it had a direction. The humour was not laugh out loud funny. More like cynical. The dialogue was punchy, which I liked. The characters and the situations were rather odd ball. I did not love this book nor did I hate it. I am just not sure what the fuss was about?
I have given this to a friend to read.
