Second book in the Miles Vorkosigan series. Hugo award winner for 1991, and this audio version is an Audie Award finalist from 2005!

I love this series! Great twisty plots, fantastic characterization, action, emotion.... But I have to admit that this is my least favorite of the bunch! I mean, they're all yummy, but this one just doesn't sparkle quite as much as the others. So naturally this one wins a Hugo. I always wonder if those things aren't like the Oscars, where people are really winning because they should have won before but didn't!

Miles Vorkosigan graduates from the Barrayaran Military Academy with high expectations of ship command, but is disappointed with an assignment as meteorologist to Lazkowski Base, an arctic training camp.
