Falling pregnant, she is forced to marry into the ruling family: the Tourniers. Tormentor becomes husband, and a shocking fate awaits her. Plagued by the colour blue, Ella is haunted by parallels with the past, and by her recurring dream. Then one morning she wakes up to discover that her hair is turning inexplicably red...

I loved the Girl with the Pearl Earring, so I nabbed this one when I saw it. Seems like a completely different type of story. This author is a bit on the "female" side of my reading spectrum, but I suspect I will like it. The two other books I chose were both fantasy novels, so this balances well.
