What an incredible book! Very moving (yep, I cried a few times) and a glimpse into a world that seems so far from here (though I suspect a lot of it would be all too familiar to many Māori and Pasifika families in the poorer suburbs of Auckland).

Thank you ghir, for the chance to see a side of Hawai'i very different to the postcard image presented to tourists, and certainly more than I'd ever have been able to see on my brief visit.
