The Grapes of Wrath

Hate this book. Hate hate hate. I had to read it for 9th grade English, and I never intend to read it again. My boyfriend loves it-- maybe it's a guy thing. I found it dry & boring, and won't force myself through it anytime in the future.

I just picked up Grapes of Wrath yesterday in HEB produce section. Thanks VixyPixy! Despite your disdain for the book, I intend to read it.
I've been thinking for the past few days about why it is exactly I have such a strong dislike for this book.
I think it's because I am more of a happy-endings person, and the only thing that comes to mind when I think of this book is... dust. Dust, dust, and more dust. I guess because he paints such a vivid picture of the Dust Bowl. It just makes me FEEL dirty and gritty to even think it. Combine that with my even stronger dislike-bordering-on-hatred for Oklahoma, and, well... just not the book for me.
However, I hope SamsonJolie enjoys it.
