A wonderfully evocative story about the damage done when well-meaning people try to protect a child from the truth. The big secrets were a bit obvious at times, but it did seem plausible that she would have twisted things in her memory so much that she wouldn't spot what really happened.

A quite enjoyable read but the mystery wasn't particularly difficult to resolve after years of Dorothy Sayers et al. Still, a delight to finally read this after seeing the author at the London Convention (at least, I think I did)
Caught today at the meetup, and this one looks a bit better than the other one, so I might read it before handing it over to Sherlockfan.

It fell into my hands thanks to a push from Discoverylover at a meet-up at The Loft this evening. Only got as far as page 38 in the only other Adrienne Dines books I've read so I'll give this a try with no promises. Otherwise it will go down well at the UnConvention in November.
