One day absent-minded Robert, fourteen years old with distant eyes, becomes simply absent Robert, adrift in history. On an enchanted journey through the centuries, he falls into picture after picture, not sure when or where he will emerge. But each time he shifts, rubs his eyes to reveal a new life, he is further and further from the one he belongs in, from his home and his mother's kitchen, where the journey began...
This was a really sweet and quite clever book. Robert finds himself travelling backwards through time, through pictures and paintings to the time that is depicted in them. The worlds he travels to are very real and believeable, and I did feel for Robert as he began to wonder if he'd ever get home at all. A very clever way of getting him back too.

Will take this one to the World Convention in Dublin :)
Picked this up at the convention in Dublin. I shall read it and make another journal entry before release.
A lovely little book with an imaginative concept and interesting storyline. I like the final chapter and resolution to the story.

I'm on holiday with my family and was walking the dog yesterday when I came across a book which had a sticker on the front saying 'take me home'... Brilliant! x
