I've always admired Tony Benn, so I had this on my wish list for quite a while. Fortunately, a generous sister in-law took pity on me and bought it me for Christmas.

Part childhood memoir, part collection of speeches, this is an excellent insight into one of the great political figures of recent Britain. The first part of the book deals with Benn's childhood and family life, growing up during the war and particularly how his family influenced and helped shape his political beliefs. The second part is a collection of more recent speeches dealing with many of the bigger political questions of our time. For a long time admirer of Benn like myself, this was a very satisfying read.
NB - Although this book was brand new when I got it, one cycle home in the rain has left it slightly water damaged. It's still perfectly readable, but not exactly pristine.
