I don't consider this Heinlein's best work, but it's pretty good. It starts out slow and gets better toward the end. About a man named Hugh Farnham, who takes his family into a bomb shelter during a nuclear attack, and they are thrown 2000 years into the future. They survive alone for a while, but then are found. In this future, black people are called the Chosen and rule the world, with whites as slaves. Hugh isn't content with being a slave, but where can he escape to? This book was billed as "Science Fiction's Most Controversial Novel."
