Technogenesis

A neatly written piece of near-future sci-fi that asks where will our dependence on the internet lead and can we really afford to be so disconnected from the 'real' world, and what is 'real' anyway. Tightly drawn characters and good dialogue gives this a very contemporary feel with a minimal reliance on jargon and no attempt to daze the audience with technobabble. Like it, like it a lot.
From Amazon:
In a near future where almost everyone on earth is connected to a worldwide net, Jasmine Reese discovers the existence of an intelligence called Gestalt-a self-aware entity generated by the collected consciousness of eight billion networked people. And only Jaz can stop it from controlling the world.
