Acquired at WH Smith on Balham High Street - another Richard & Judy Book Club special.
This caught my eye because (i) it was longlisted for the Booker Prize and (ii) the plot reminds me of one of my favourite books when I was a girl, Summer of my German Soldier. Hope this is good!

I was really looking forward to this novel but it was a let-down. It felt sluggish to me. Anyway, I read half-way and then skim read whole pages until I got to the end. Not so great - will be interesting to see if Richard & Judy's book club enjoy this one...
