Journal Entry 1 by Nell-Lu from Edinburgh, Scotland United Kingdom on Saturday, January 19, 2008
This is the tale of a quiet middle-aged crisis. David has been working in a bookshop in Suffolk for fourteen years. His artist girlfriend has walked out on him once already. His oldest friend Jack, the chat show host, has died. His oldest friend Jack, the chat show host, was famous. His oldest friend Jack, the chat show host, was rich. His oldest friend Jack, the chat show host, lived the celebrity lifestyle. His oldest friend Jack… well, you get the idea. David’s tragedy is gently written. He is bitter, but he blames himself for his failures as much as he blames Jack. It becomes clear that Jack’s life is also far from perfect. The friendship, confused and dysfunctional as it is, is important to both of them.

Well... I have to admit that I just couldn't get into the book, that's why it took me so long...Maybe not my humour style. I found though quite interesting the relationship between David and Jack. On it's way to Finland!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy reading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Journal Entry 6 by hippolein from Helsinki, Uusimaa Finland on Friday, March 07, 2008
I'm so terribly sorry, it seems I was so excited about getting the book that I completely forgot to register it arrived :-( But, I had told Xamantha I had it and was going to send it on when I got it! I've read it now, liked it a lot the idea about friendship between two so completely different men and still having so much in common is a very nice set-off for the book, and I liked the humor and all kind of small detailes in it! my wife (teddyke here) would have wanted to have a look at it too, so it still takes a bit before it continues its journey to the Netherlands. Thanks a lot for offering this book as a Ray!

Journal Entry 9 by Xamantha from Ochten, Gelderland Netherlands on Monday, May 18, 2009
OMG...I never sent this ray to the next person! I am so sorry, Nell-Lu!!! For some reason I had in mind that I was the last with this ray, but I'm not. Will contact kotus123 to send it to Germany... I tried reading Seeds of Greatness a few times, but found myself stuck in the first part of the book every time. Is it because I'm not used to reading in English or do I just miss the 'click' with this story? Maybe I'll try it in Dutch, will write an entry here if I do!
