I am very dissapointed with this book. I trawled through a couple of hundred pages and it still hasn't gripped me. I am surprised at this because it (seemingly) has many things that would interest me. Ancient history, family/tribal saga, mysticism, wars and murders etc etc but it hasn't caught my imagination at all. Perhaps when I get further in and the conception/building of Stonehenge gets to centre stage it might pick up for me.

I can't say why I don't like it though.... the story line should work for me.... perhaps the writer's style is not to my liking.

No... sorry, still not able to get captivated by it. It's a competent, inoffensive read but when a book is written about building Stonehenge you would think that it would be monumental, towering, mysterious, imaginative and original. This book is none of these, which is a shame as, given the subject matter, it should have been. But, of course, this is only my humble opinion - very many others have enjoyed this book and rated it very highly.

Going to Jawin next.

This very heavy going - and not what I expected. I've read other things by this author which I have enjoyed much more than this. Only continued to the end really because of sheer bloody mindedness. I couldn't feel empathy with any of the characters and, all in all, I didn't learn enough about Stonehenge to make it worthwhile.

Off to hathyia next.

This book has been lost for well over a year now in the possession of another BookCrosser. It is hoped that one day soon this book will be allowed to continue on its intended bookring path so that it may get read by all of the people waiting and so that it can return home to the generous owner that loves it so much that it was wanted back.

It is hoped by the Lost Book Island Resort that a short vacation is all that this book needs to get moving again. Perhaps after a little relaxing under a palm tree and some fun in the sun this book will be rested enough to get moving again.

All that it takes to get this book on its way once more is a journal entry that tells where it has been all these long months and if it will be getting the chance to visit other interested BookCrossers before it returns to a waiting loving home.
