Rebecca

"Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again." So the second Mrs. Maxim de Winter remembered the chilling events that led her down the turning drive past the beeches, white and naked, to the isolated gray stone manse on the windswept Cornish coast. With a husband she barely knew, the young bride arrived at this immense estate, only to be inexorably drawn into the life of the first Mrs. de Winter, the beautiful Rebecca, dead but never forgotten ... her suite of rooms never touched, her clothes ready to be worn, her servant - the sinister Mrs. Danvers - still loyal. And as an eerie presentiment of evil tightened around her heart, the second Mrs. de Winter began her search for the real fate of Rebecca ... for the secrets of Manderley.

RELEASE NOTES:
I picked it up - even though people who know me might not believe it... ;)
It may look like a tacky romance, but since it's mentioned in the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde, there must be more to it than that... and I'm willing to find out what! :))
While sorting through my Mt TBR, trying to divide it into "will definitely read" and "okay to release" books, I found this book that has all this time been patiently waiting to be read. I was still undecided, so I read the blurb again, and now I know: This book is definitely moving to Graz with me, where I'll hopefully find the time to (finally!) read it.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I had to reduce my Mt TBR a bit further, and so I decided to let this book go rather than just have it gather dust on my shelf. I took it to today's meetup, and I hope its next readers will give it the attention it deserves. :)

Yes well, my sentiments exactly. I don't know how long this will have to stay on Mt TBR, but I always feel safer if I have a good amount of classics on my hands. And it's true: this story is alluded to so often that I feel I like I'd almost read it already.

Liebe TanteJu, liebe linguistkris,

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
I'm sorry. We won’t read this book. In the evenings we are unfortunately to tired to read literature in English language.
The book is now traveling very far away. It's on keeta1’s wishlist. She lives in New Zealand. Have a good trip, book!

Thank you so much Dagobert1 for this book, which arrived this morning. A nice surprise, as I had completely forgotten that you were sending it :)
I will definitely read it sometime, but maybe not just yet, as I have a huge Mt TBR and for now it's going into my permanent collection.
I know what you mean about being too tired in the evening for heavy reading! It's often easier to just watch something light and mindless on telly, isn't it?
