Really charming. Intended for kids, but if imagination's important to you, you'll enjoy it no matter what age you are.

Fun story except for the blatant sexism. The children on Krakatoa built a wonderful invention, but the story later says that the boys had experience running it. What were the girls doing, wiping their brows? Baking them cookies? Funny how Yearning for Zion can make the news these days, but these girls, too, were brought to the island for only one thing!

This came back to me at lunch today so I'll try to find a new home for it.
