Purchased from Asda for a quid during the post Christmas sales. What a bargain :)

This short story about a little lost boy Oscar and his new friend Hoo is stunningly drawn and quite a stark little story. I was shocked to pick up something so bleak in amongst some colourful post Christmas sale childrens booiks.

Oscar is lost on holiday in the desert by his very forgetful parents and ends up with only a small cloud called Hoo as company. Hoo comforts him, cools him and cuddles him while his parents remain at large.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

Left in the foyer of the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Soutbhank Centre just before a talk by Nobel Prize winning Doris Lessing. I feel like I've missed a great opportunity by not having something more highbrow to wild release amongst this crowd but I felt I couldn't miss the opportunity to spread the Bookcrossing zeal.

Found it in the Ladies toilets at Queen Elizabeth Hall in Southbank Centre and read it before the Doris Lessing talk. I read it over a glass of horrible white wine before going into the hall but the wine is no reflection on the book - it was lovely.

As I'm going on holiday tomorrow and the story is about Oscar going on holiday, and I've just lost a parent (although Oscar finds his in the end), I think I will take it with me and who knows where it will end up...
