From the back:
Clinging to one another in their loneliness and alienation, George and his simple-minded friend Lennie, dream as drifters will, of a place to call their own. But after they come to work on a ranch in California's Salinas Valley their hopes, like "the best laid schemes o' mice an' men," begin to go awry.
One of my favourite books, a beautiful story of friendship.

Thanks Marsala, the book has arrived safely. I'll read it soon.
What a lovely book about friendship and loneliness. It's also refreshing to have such a big classic in just 90 pages or so. Thanks for sharing, Marsala, this will now go back to the library for another reader.
This book is now back on the 1001 library bookshelf and can be borrowed by PMing jaynereader :)
If you want to take this book from the library but don't know how to proceed, please refer to the library bookshelf.
